Just like that, Shawna has made my day.  She is down to earth, intelligent, insightful, and kind.  Someone who has a great blog for aspiring writers (Go check it out. Right now!) and readers alike.  I love reading her posts.  But besides her awesomeness she bestows on me cool awards that make me feel like I really am awesome!  Oh my poor fragile writer’s ego.  It’s soaring right now, it is!  I suspect I got this particular award because I have a big mouth, but I’ll take it anyway 😉

The stipulation of the award is that I must reveal 7 random facts about myself and then pass this award on to 5 bloggers of my choice.  Here goes:

Random Factoid #1 – I have never ever ever tasted meat. Stop laughing you perverts! I’m a vegetarian and have been since birth. I accidentally bit into a ham sandwich once but I didn’t taste the ham and spit it out before I could. It was my friend’s fault *shakes first*

Random Factoid #2 – I’ve had my nose pierced at two different times in my life.  Each time I took it out, thinking that I didn’t want it. A part of me wants one again, but really, three times?  My poor nose!

Random Factoid #3 – I am clumsy. Like seriously clumsy.  But I usually fall down because of my own feet/body. And twist my ankle. Everytime. Fucker!

Random Factoid #4 – My hands are double jointed. At every knuckle. So the very frist knuckle after the tip of your finger? I can bend and wave it at you.  My fingers got locked like that once. I over worked that joint I think. I may have been showing off to my elementary school friends.

Random Factoid #5 – I planned my wedding in exactly 8 days.  Everything went off without a hitch and there wasn’t enough time to stress. It was great! I would absolutely do it all over again!

Random Factoid #6 – I have two beautiful children. Both were born at home. On purpose. One is my land baby and the other is my water baby, born on the ground and in my tub respectively. Both experiences were one of the most amazing, special moments in my life.

Random Factoid #7 – My big toe and my lawnmower had a gruesome meeting one day. Despite have a decent hunk of my toe cut off, it grew back. Therefore I am a medical miracle. And invertebrates aren’t the only ones with regeneration powers. Ha. I have pictures to prove it 😉

Now on to sharing this puppy!  The Versatile Blogger award goes to:

E.M. Rowan – my critt partner, a friend for life, my twin, and an amazing writer in own right — she is one in a million. She also has a fabulous blog with tons of great information!  Especially for you YA writers out there!  Go check her out!

Tradermare – all around cool chick and fellow Jeaniene Frost fan. She reviews books and writes fanfic! Go see!

Angela Scott – funny, down to earth, likes zombies. What’s not to like?!  Go check her out, her blog is fantastic!

Leah Plozano – the nicest, kindest, sweetest person you’ll find anywhere!  And she just started her blog, but you can already tell she’s something fantastic. Go support a fellow writer and wonderful human!

Shinda – because the owner of this blog is fantastic and never fails to me awe me with his kindness and humility. He is a gem. His blog? Sometimes controversial, sometimes funny, a lot of times entertaining — I’m always waiting for new content.  A must read!

And one more mention, just cause I have to. Engarde doesn’t have a blog, but she should!  She is that awesome!  She is thoughtful, caring, helpful, intelligent, creative…I once described her as a cross between Mother Theresa and Martha Stewart, but better and that still stands true. Go follow her on twitter!

*As per the rules, you must reveal 7 random facts about yourself and share this award with 5 bloggers of your choice!  Enjoy!

ah, you are so sweet! and I totally agree with you — Engarde needs a blog! Thanks so much for the mention.

You’re pretty sweet, too. But we need to work on being persuasive! How do we convince Eng to start one?

  2. June 28, 2011 at 8:03 pm E. M. Rowan

Holy Grail, my first ever blog award! Syd, so sweet of you, but I so don’t deserve this award (especially since I haven’t blogged in like half a year. Seriously). But I am still honored by the mention! And if I ever find a free minute to get anything done, I will blog about this! No, first I will call you, cause that’s been on my to-do list for a long time and you’re more important to me than blogging. I’m sorry I’m so out-of-touch and can’t figure out a good time to talk. I miss you and love you! Thanks for being such a fabulous twin/friend/writer/crit partner!! *hugs*

You so totally do. I don’t care if you last updated it 2 years ago, it has great content that should be read. And therefore you deserve the award.

I miss you and love you, too. I’m sure we’ll get some time to talk now that school is out for summer 😉

Thank you for the special mention! I learned a lot about you in your post. I planned our wedding in 30 days. I am SO impressed that you did yours in 8 (mops brow just thinking about it!). Thanks for the suggestion on the blog (BTW: the hubs agrees). I just don’t know if I have anything to say! *Smooches!*

    • June 29, 2011 at 11:46 pm Syd

Wow, 30 days! I can’t imagine what that must have been like for you! 8 days was due to some “special” circumstances so it was a do or die type of thing. We didn’t have a lot of things, like cards, so we managed to pull if off! LOL! Isn’t that wild?

I don’t have anything great to say either and I have a blog! You post great stuff on twitter and facebook, why not make it count? And your husband is a smart man.

Maybe we should setup your blog along with the other one! And don’t think I forgot about it. We should really talk on skype soon!
